The Fandom of the Oprah

So I saw “Phantom of the Opera” at the Venetian on Tuesday evening with my sister and brother-in-law (visiting from out of town). The tickets, normally $150, were courtesy of a cousin who works at the Venetian.

I had seen the show once before in Chicago, but it was so long ago that it was pretty much like seeing it for the first time. It was a highly spectacular show, with many excellent special effects. The highlight was, of course, the crashing down of the chandelier. Since our seats were beneath the dome, when the chandelier fell it looked like it was plummeting directly toward us (thankfully it stopped a few feet short).

Anyway, it was a very enjoyable performance. Now I can’t get the theme song out of my head. :-)
